A "handy" volunteer is someone who has some experience with tools or equipment or renovations and is comfortable to take on renovation tasks with the support of HeroWork staff or a accredited trade. Tasks could include cutting lumber, tiling, installing flooring, installing hardware, framing, painting, etc.
Please carefully go through the “skills” section in the sign- up process, indicating the appropriate skill levels. (Note: skills are randomly displayed in this volunteer system, so you'll have to look for yours! If your skill is not listed, please choose "other" and leave a descriptive note.)
Long pants and closed-toed shoes mandatory.
